PA State Council Conference Meeting
June 5, 2021
Ramada Inn & Conference Center
1450 S. Atherton Street
State College, PA 16801
The PASC Conference will be held “in-person” on June 5, 2021. We will finally be able to join together as brothers and sisters to reaffirm and continue our efforts to assist our fellow veterans. I look forward to seeing everyone again.
We have important information to share with our membership, so it is very important that all chapters send as many of their authorized delegates as possible to this conference. We need to educate and update ourselves on current events that effect PA veterans and additionally prepare for the VVA National Convention on November 2-6, 2021, at which time we may decide and determine the future of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc.
In order to make it easier and less costly to attend, we have consolidated the General Membership Conference into a single day. Also we changed the agenda to allow the opportunity for everyone to participate and share their opinions on all subject material, committee matters, and the ability to vote on all issues if required.
The Basic Agenda:
The PASC Board of Directors (elected officers & district directors) will meet on Friday evening, June 4th at 7:00 PM in Terrace Room A (by the pool). Only the elected BOD members are required to attend, however all VVA members are invited. Friday night hotel reservations for the officers & district directors will be made and charged to PASC.
The VVA General Membership Conference will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 5th and continue until 6:00 pm, with a lunch and mid-afternoon break. Between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, officers and committee “chairs” will discuss and present issues for all conference attendees, including votes by the delegates, if necessary. The Saturday Membership conference will be held in the Nittany room (located downstairs). The AVVA State Conference will simultaneously be held in Terrace Room A (by the pool) on Saturday, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The General Membership Conference will end and adjourn at 6:00 PM.
Travel and Hotel reservations:
Hotel reservations are optional for chapter delegates and other attendees. Here are some possible options:
Go to State College on Saturday morning, attend the membership meetings from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and then go back home, so no hotel overnight stay or expense.
Call and make your own hotel reservations for Friday night, or for Saturday night, or for both nights, and attend the membership meeting on Saturday.
If you decide to stay at the hotel overnight, call now and make your reservation. The room charge has not increased and breakfast is now free if you have a reservation.
The hotel restaurant will be closed for lunch on Saturday. However, we are working to arrange and provide a catered or delivered lunch, so we can eat and socialize together between sessions. The restaurant will be open for breakfast and dinner.
I expect that there are some questions about the conference. If so, please call one of the PASC Officers, phone numbers and email addresses are listed on the pasc website at: www.vva-pa.org.
Please make every effort to attend. Our mission and work is still needed. And equally important, we should spend some time together to share our experiences and stories.
Thank you. Stay healthy and safe.
